Another app disappears from the App Store: Box Office
On Friday, the Netshare application for Internet sharing on the iPhone disappeared. It appeared, it disappeared, it appeared again and finally it didn’t come back. It was an app whose purpose might have caused objections from Apple and AT&T, but that made its repeated appearances all the more confusing. But this is not an isolated case: a second application has disappeared again: the movie search program, Box Office. Unlike NetShare, there doesn’t seem to be a specific reason behind the app’s demise. Additionally, developer Cyrus Najmabadi has publicly said that he has no idea why Apple might have pulled the program from the store. He also says that he has tried to contact them but has gotten no response. This is another mystery that points to the arbitrariness with which Apple treats developers and that can cause disagreements between the Cupertino company and application developers.
