Apple updates its popular line of MacBook laptops


Apple today updated its range of MacBook consumer notebook computers, adding faster Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 1GB of memory and larger hard drives on all models, plus 802.11n wireless communication with up to 2.5 times the performance and twice the range of previous 802.11g Wi-Fi. And all this with a price that starts at 999 euros (VAT included).

CUPERTINO, Calif. -May 15, 2007- Apple today updated its MacBook lineup of consumer notebook computers, with faster Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 1GB of memory and larger-capacity hard drives on all models. MacBook is just 1 inch tall and features 802.11n wireless communication with up to 2.5 times the performance and twice the range of previous 802.11g Wi-Fi.* Every new MacBook also includes a camera built-in iSight video for video conferencing from anywhere, MagSafe power adapter that safely unplugs the power cord when pulled, and iLife ’06, Apple’s award-winning collection of digital-style apps.

“The MacBook is a huge hit with customers, and it’s one of the reasons Mac sales are growing three times faster than PC sales,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The new MacBook is faster, has more memory and storage capacity, and is an ideal laptop for customers’ growing music, photo and video libraries.”

Equipped with a stunningly bright 13-inch diagonal display, the slim MacBook is just 1 inch thick and is available in three models: two sleek white models with 2.0GHz and 2.16GHz processors , and a stunning black MacBook with a 2.16 GHz processor. MacBook features an iSight video camera so you can chat on the go with family and friends using iChat AV,** record a video podcast or movie with iMovie using iLife ’06, or take fun photos with Photo Booth. Designed for the mobile digital lifestyle, the new MacBook includes Apple’s MacSafe power adapter that magnetically connects the power cord to the MacBook and safely disconnects when pulled, and the latest generation of Wi-Fi communication. -Fi 802.11n that offers up to 2.5 times the performance and twice the range of the previous 802.11g standard.
