On Tuesday, ATEN International filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Beklin in the United States District Court. The lawsuit alleges that the select Belkin KVM Switches infringe ATEN US Patent No. 7,035,112, entitled “Automatic Switch” (“Patent 112”).
The patent gives intellectual property protection to any KVM Switch that features attached cables, including IOGEAR’s MiniView Micro Series and MiniView USB KVM for the Mac mini. The company requests that its partners and distributors discontinue the sale and promotion of the patent infringing devices.
“Over the past 10 years, ATEN has made significant investments in the research and development of new and innovative KVM technologies, including the 112 Patent,” said Victor Wang, corporate counsel at ATEN and IOGEAR. “Our customers and partners can rest assured that we will diligently protect our intellectual property to ensure the integrity of all ATEN International products today and in the future.”
