Xbox Series X Dashboard: This bug in Microsoft Edge is extremely annoying

There is a bug in the Microsoft Edge browser on the Xbox console that is extremely annoying – SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED.

Maybe you’ve already had one Microsoft Edge browser used to watch a longer video on the Xbox console in the browser. If so, you too will definitely have the “SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED“-errors have seen.

The video simply stops and the error is displayed. You can then refresh the page to continue the video, but you have to log in again and after what feels like 10 minutes it happens again and again.

The error has been known for months and complaints are piling up everywhere. There has been discussion about what could be the problem for over seven months, especially on Reddit. Some of Microsoft’s suggested solutions also don’t work.

A report from May 2022 describes the annoying Microsoft Edge bug, which we also get hit with almost every day, very well:

“That’s exactly what happens to me too. Edge app on Xbox exceeds memory when playing a video above 720p on most websites. Getting the error (SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED).”

“I have to refresh the page to continue the video and that happens every 10 minutes. For some reason it doesn’t seem to happen when I watch YouTube, but it happened on every other video streaming website I tried. I can only assume that something went wrong with the last Edge update. I’ve tried every troubleshooting technique, even resetting the console to factory settings. This must be a problem with Edge. Until the problem is fixed, you can apparently still watch in 720p without any problems. I suggest reporting the issue to Edge. Click on the 3 dots in the top right, go down to Help & Feedback and then Send Feedback. If they get a few reports, they should look into the problem.”
