Ubisoft withdraws Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s update forces


Everything comes to an end, including the content supply of Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. According to the French publisher, it is time to close the book and there will be no more updates.

And with that comes an end to Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s tumultuous career. The tactical shooter, released in 2019, received quite a bit of criticism from day one, something that Ubisoft has wanted to correct all along. But this cannot be maintained indefinitely either. Operation Motherland – the latest content update – was therefore the swan song for this Ghost Recon offspring.

Now that Ubisoft has decided to leave Ghost recon Breakpoint for what it is, people can finally do some self-reflection. Because yes, things are not really going well at Ubi. According to CEO Yves Guillemot, Breakpoint was really a progression killer that significantly hindered the launch of Watch Dogs Legion, Immortals: Fenyx Rising and Rainbow Six Extraction. Anyway, fortunately all three became hard blockbusters.

But really, Ubisoft is having a hard time. Every time someone comes up with something new and innovative, we slam it. First that battle royale outing called Ghost Recon Frontline, which was thrown straight into the trash, then that NFT thing called Quartz that Ubi believes is too simple for us. Not to mention that alleged dirty talk that Yves reportedly turns a blind eye to. You will be the boss…
