What is known about the all-terrain vehicle Predator, which Putin and Peskov drove around Chukotka today?


Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug for the first time and visited the city of Anadyr.

There he was met by a motorcade of cars, among which was a Russian-made Predator all-terrain vehicle. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov also took a ride on this special vehicle.

What kind of car is this and how Russian is it really? Let’s figure it out.

What kind of Predator is this?

The Predator is an all-season all-terrain vehicle or snow and swamp-going vehicle, as the manufacturer calls it.

It was developed by engineers of the Tobolsk company “Meg West” in 2007 and is intended for extreme off-road travel. The vehicle is capable of driving through deep snow, sand and wetlands, as well as overcoming water obstacles.

The Predator was built on the basis of the GAZ-66.

Apparently, Putin and Peskov were provided with Predator-3920 models on ultra-low pressure tires (diameter from 1450 to 1700 mm). The basic configuration of these cars includes a sunroof, axle locks and disc brakes on the wheels.

Are these all-terrain vehicles worth it? 8,173,000 rubles.

The fuel tank capacity is 105 liters. The maximum weight of a loaded all-terrain vehicle is 3080 kg. The machine’s carrying capacity reaches 1.5 tons.

Russian, but not really

Installed on all-terrain vehicle version 3920 Japanese turbodiesel engine ISUZU 4JB1T (volume 2,771 liters) and gearbox from Toyota, transfer case from GAZ-3308 (Sadko), Gazelle axles. The basic configuration includes a spring suspension; at the customer’s request, it is possible to install an air suspension. The body is made of Russian duralumin.

Other models may use Japanese diesel engines Yanmar 4TNV98T or Kubota V 3800-T. In rare cases, Chinese Weichai WP2.3N is used.

In general, this is a domestic car, but not 100%. It still uses some foreign elements.

Predator is produced in small batches. To operate it, you need a tractor driver’s license with category “AII” (this is an analogue of category B for off-road vehicles).

New Today Tab feature coming soon to Pokémon GO

Pokémon players can expect an innovation very soon: In the research view, in addition to the familiar tabs for field and special research, a new tab called “Today” will be available. This is intended to offer players a compact overview of current events and progress:

  • An event section provides information about currently running events and shows their remaining duration as well as ongoing event bonuses.
  • The tab also provides a compact overview of your Pokémon in Gyms and their current defense duration and motivation. It should also show which Pokémon have already returned and how many PokéCoins you have already received on the current day.
  • A compact graphic will also show you how many days in a row you have caught a Pokémon or turned a PokéStop. This means you can keep an eye on the bonus you receive for a series of up to seven days.

  • Finally, there should be a short overview of upcoming events, which you can use to view the in-game messages, which can also be accessed via the “News” item in the menu.

It is not yet known when exactly this new feature will be available in the game.

New Star Wars Jedi: Survivor update released today


Although Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a great game on consoles aside from some performance issues, the title’s condition on PC was a little less good at release. Over the past few weeks, Respawn Entertainment has been working on several updates and a new one appears today.

This update addresses some platform-specific issues, but also addresses issues common to all versions of the game. Below are the patch notes of the latest update, which are not very extensive in themselves. In addition, the developer has also indicated what is still being worked on.
