Dragon Quest 11 – How to Rebuild Your Home Village Cobblestone (Post-Game Quest Guide)

Once you have completed the main quest, wait in Dragon Quest XI still lots of things you can do and experience. One of these unmarked quests can be found in your hometown. I don’t want to give too much away, but in the first few hours of Dragon Quest XI The hero’s hometown isn’t exactly lucky.

After defeating the final boss or while exploring the third part of the main story, you will be able to revisit your home and spruce it up a bit. There’s no dedicated quest for this, but if you talk to the right NPC you’ll get the clues you need. There are certain characters in the game world who can help you restore the idyllic little village you come from to its former glory.

There is also an incredible shop waiting for you at the end of this journey. Rebuild your hometown to gain access to some of the best weapons and armor in the game.

How to Rebuild Cobblestone | Post-Game Quest Guide

(WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOLLOW!)

To restore Cobblestone, your hometown, you must return there and speak to Gemma after successfully beating the main game (i.e. until the end credits). First you have to travel back in time at the Tower of Time and then defeat Mordegan in Heliodor.

Afterwards, you can explore the past timeline as you wish – and of course visit Cobblestone, where the residents have returned. Talk to Gemma (near your old house). She will ask you to find four important people who can help rebuild the village. This isn’t a quest, but finding all four will restore Cobblestone to its former glory.

  • Locations of the four NPCs:

    1. Derk the Merchant is located at the Cobblestone Gate in Cobblestone.

      • They find him on the mountain, where he is attacked by a monster. Defeat the monster. Then you can ask him to return and help rebuild Cobblestone.

    2. Vince the MMA Fighter is in Octagonia, namely in the Octagonia Underground Dungeon. You can access the Underground through the Orphanage.

      • They have to defeat a team made up of five former MMA fighters and then also defeat Arachtagon.

      • Once the fighter is rescued, you must go to the orphanage and meet the Underdigger. The two fighters will agree to move to Cobblestone.

    3. Noah the Knower has left Hotto and is now in Gondolia. The city is infested with monsters – talk to the NPC at the front gate to find out how many monsters are left.

      • If you leave the city, the monsters will respawn. That’s why you’ll need to take them all out during a run – so be prepared for lots of fights!

      • You can talk to Noah after eliminating the monsters. He waits with his dollar near the front gate.

    4. The magical creature Jormunn lives in the north of Snifleheim, in the Hekswood.

      • Don’t try to fight this creature just yet! First, travel to the Royal Library to learn how to banish the evil spirit that has taken possession of it. On the first floor you will find a book that contains the information you need.

      • To kill the Malicious Jormunn, you must neutralize it with a lightning spell – Zap, Zapple, Kazap or Kazapple, to name a few examples.

Convince all four characters to travel to Cobblestone to have your hometown rebuilt. On your next visit, it will shine in its former glory. Be sure to check out Derk’s Shop, which sells incredibly useful, very powerful items you can’t get anywhere else.
