Do Hogwarts Legacy Mods work on Nintendo Switch?

Mods will always be considered a blessing for gamers because of the insane features they bring to games. Hogwarts Legacy is available on Nintendo Switch and fans of the game want to know if they can use mods on their Switch. Can you get mods to work on Nintendo Switch? Here’s everything you need to know about modding.

Can you use mods in Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch?

Sweet and short answer, no, it is not possible to use mods for Hogwarts Legacy on your Nintendo Switch. As much as we’d love to be able to play multiplayer with friends on our Switch, that’s just not possible. Modding is usually a feature that only PC players can enjoy, so as much as I hate it, your Switch can’t use mods for Hogwarts Legacy.

Nintendo has been pretty clear about its stance on modding on the Nintendo Switch. They are not in favor of this for many reasons and that is understandable. If you want to play Hogwarts Legacy and use mods, you’ll need to upgrade to PC.

Hogwarts Legacy Summons missing? reach 100%?

Where to find the summons in Hogwarts Legacy? What can you do if you are still missing one or a few summons? Anyone who has already spent an hour or two in the world of the new Harry Potter game will certainly have found one or the other incantation. The summons can be used with the appropriate summoning spell in the Room of Requirement and create different objects over it. Items include not only things like a planting table with a pot or a potion station for brewing potions, but also decorations for the Room of Requirement.

Find all summons

There are a total of 140 summons that can be found or purchased in Hogwarts Legacy. Most summons can be found through “Exploration”. Exploration means the chests. The chests give you 96 summons, followed by Main and Side Missions with 25 and the Tome and Scrolls Merchant with 16 summons. You also get three more summons via the Room of Requirement challenge.

By the way, you can use the overview map to help you with the “exploration” summons. If you zoom out on the map and select an area, you will see at the top right what you still have to do or which chests you still have to find. By the way, there are still chests in the enclosures and you can also find chests containing summonses via the butterflies (if any are still missing).

  • Exploration (open chests) – 96 summons
  • Main and side quests – 25 summons
  • Merchant (Tomes and Scrolls) – 16 summons
  • Challenges (Room of Requirement) – 3 Summons

Summons missing?

If you have explored almost everything and found almost all summonses, you may have the problem and individual summonses are still missing (mostly 137/140 or 139/140). If you have completed the exploration, main and side missions, and also bought all the summons from the merchant in Hogsmeade, then the remaining three missing summons can usually be found in the Room of Requirement.

In the Challenges, under the Room of Requirement, you’ll find the “Save Creatures” quest. The task requires you to save 30 creatures and you will receive a summon as a reward.

  • 10 Beasts – Billywig Stick
  • 20 Beasts – Magic Chimes
  • 30 Beasts – Phoenix Statue

Hogwarts Legacy has a particular diversity problem

Hogwarts Legacy seems to be a great success. The game scores well with the reviewers, is streamed a lot on Twitch and is one of the most popular games on Steam. Still, gamers have a particular diversity problem, which was quickly solved with a user-made mod.

Hogwarts Legacy is immensely popular and is one of the most successful game launches ever. On Steam, the game recorded the second highest number of simultaneous players ever for a single-player game, higher than Fallout 4, for example, but just behind Cyberpunk 2077. Still, the game has been the subject of quite a bit of controversy, and not just because of statements by the creator of the entire Potterverse, JK Rowling. No, several players complain that they can’t make their character ‘white’ enough in the game!

  • Score Hogwarts Legacy here!

Hogwarts Legacy, like many games, has an extensive option to customize your character. Anyone who only works with the character creator mode and wants to copy the image of Draco Malfoy there, for example, will soon notice that the skin color of your character cannot be made as ‘white’ as that of Draco. Big deal, you might think, but players from Northern Europe in particular are now complaining that it is now impossible to make an image of themselves in the game.

Modders rush to the rescue

It didn’t take long for the mod scene to recognize this problem and in no time a mod was released under the name Paler and Darker Skins for Player Character. Although this mod adds both extra dark and extra light skin tones, players seem to use the mod mainly to enable the ‘whiter’ skin tones. The mod does not add any new skin tones, but makes the lightest and darkest skin tones more pronounced.

The mod is immediately very popular. It is already the most popular mod on nexusmods.com for the game, more popular than mods that polish the frame rate or make other technical improvements.
