How to listen to WhatsApp voice messages without unlocking the mobile from notifications

We are going to explain to you how to listen to WhatsApp voice messages from the notification panel. This is a new function that for now has only reached the iOS version, but it should not be surprising that Android users will also receive it in the coming days to save time.

The idea is that of be able to listen to messages without unlocking the mobile or opening the application. With this, you will not have to unlock and open the WhatsApp application to be able to listen to them, and what is more, you will not have to open the application to have to send a reply to that voice note.

It is not that opening a voice note until now was complicated, it was just pressing the notification so that WhatsApp would open and play the voice note. But if you are in a context in which you cannot allow yourself to open the application, with this new method you will have the ability to save a few tenths of a second or not have to close the app and lock the mobile again later.

Listen to voice messages from notifications

The first thing you will have to do is look at the notifications on your mobile, where the notifications that you have received a voice message will appear. When this happens hold your finger on the message notification. It is important that you do not give it a simple touch, because that opens WhatsApp, but simply press and hold your finger on the notification.

When you press and hold the lock screen notification, a small window will open with the voice message. In this window, click on the play button to listen to the voice message they have sent you.

The good thing about this new feature is that you can not only listen to the voice message, you can also reply directly from this window. When it opens, in addition to being able to listen to the voice message, the mobile keyboard will also open and you will see a space to write. Just write what you want and click on the Send button.

When you answer the voice message and press send, or when you press the X button on the top right to close the voice message, the window will close automatically and you will return to the notification panel from the lock screen of your mobile. Neither the mobile will have been unlocked nor will you need to do anything else with it, just put it back in your pocket.
