“It’s not too late to pay it back”: A brazen thief steals an indie developer’s award at Gamescom 2023

2Awesome Studio and publisher Playstack presented a demo of the colorful and humorous roguelike shooter at Gamescom 2023 and they received an award for the game. However, the trophy has apparently disappeared. without a trace, causing Playstack to go on X (formerly Twitter) towards the daring thief… or thief.

In X, Playstack posted a picture of the best game trophy at the Gamescom Award 2023. The publisher recalls how much effort has gone into development and calls for the award to be returned:

To the person who stole our “Best Indie Game” award at Gamescom: It’s not too late to return it. The developers have invested long time in demo for this event. Please don’t ruin this moment for them. If anyone finds the trophy, please contact us.”
