All Helldivers 2 enemy types and weaknesses, from Automatons to Terminids

Helldivers 2 has a long list of enemy types that players must learn to defeat, both Terminids and Automatons. If you’ve played Helldivers 2 and want to take on a lineup of enemies, look no further.

Many enemy types have specific weaknesses and cannot be defeated with basic weapons, so here are all the bugs and bots in the game and how to defeat them.

All types of Terminids and how to defeat them

Below is a complete list of Terminid enemy types, from the simplest to the biggest bugs in the game. We have more detailed guides for some of the stronger enemy types, which you can access by clicking on the linked names in the tables below.

Error type How to overcome it
scavengers

These basic bug enemies die from one shot with most weapons.

This isn’t much of a threat unless they manage to attack you, so keep them at a distance.

Bile spitters As weak as scavengers, but with a ranged attack that you have to be ready to dodge.
Warriors Bigger and stronger than the Scavengers, but still easily defeated with a few shots from any standard weapon.
Nursing Spewers

Like Yellow Eaters, but much larger, these worms will spit bile at you from a distance.

Although the large pouch on his back may be destroyed, it will be better this way focusing the fire on his head.

Commanders of Brod

Similar to warriors, but much larger and with armor.

Aim for the legs to break the armor, then hit the weak spot underneath.

Guardians of the Hive

Extremely strong frontal armor that can only be penetrated by heavy weapons such as the Rail Gun.

Better aim at the gaps between his armored parts or hit him from behind.

Hunters/Pouncers

Hunters (and a smaller version called Jumpers) only take a few shots to kill, but can be difficult to hit when they lunge at you.

The best choice for them will be a rapid-firing weapon.

Stalkers

Larger, tougher Hunters with the ability to turn invisible. Then use smoke grenades to make them easier to spot hit them with heavy weapons.

If Stalker appears, it means: There is a Stalkers’ Nest nearby. Head in the direction the Stalkers are coming from to find it and lock it up permanently.

Bile Spewers

Very similar to Nurse Spewer, but deals more damage. Aim for the head to take it off quickly.

On higher difficulties the Bile Spewer gains armor, for these it is better to focus fire on the worm’s sides.

Chargers

Chargers are top-tier Terminid enemies, with high damage and lots of armor.

The fastest way to destroy them is shoot the legs and chip away at the armor there and then hit the exposed flesh.

Yellow Titans

The biggest bug in the game, the Yellow Titan is immune to most damage.

You will have to use tricks hit it with commands like Orbital Rail Cannon Strike or 500kg Bomb.

All slot machines and their weaknesses

Moving from bugs to bots, here are all the types of Automaton enemies and weaknesses you need to know to take them down quickly.

Machine type How to overcome it
Invaders (MG, rocket launchers, stormtroopers)

Basic Automaton soldiers, easy to take down with most weapons. They can deal quite a lot of damage with machine guns and rocket launchers.

The Assault Raider has a jetpack that allows him to close the gap quickly, so be sure to take it out when you see them coming.

Stragglers/Soldiers

These are just different types of basic bots and poses they are no more of a threat than the Raiders.

Marauders are basically the simplest Raiders with a different appearance, and Soldiers can usually only be found piloting Scouts.

Rowdies

Brawlers are as simple as the previous types, they are simple humanoid automatons just a few shots are enough to defeat.

As the name suggests, they are melee fighters as they charge at you with dual swords. Be sure to eliminate them before they get close.

Scouts

Scout Striders are walking mechs like the AT-ST from Star Wars. Everyone has Policeman in the driver’s seat and eliminating them is the fastest way to defeat the Scout.

They are open at the back, giving you a clear shot at the pilot, and you can fire rockets or grenades from the front to eliminate a Soldier with area damage.

Berserkers

Berserkers are the bigger sibling of Brawlers, larger and more powerful bots that charge at you with chainswords instead of weapons.

They’re harder to beat, so aim at their arms to disable their weapons and make them unable to fight.

Devastators

Devastators are similar in size to Berserkers, but these are really hot. Devastators They don’t have a specific weak point, you just have to hit them as hard as you can. The regular Devastator has a machine gun and can be destroyed with regular fire.

The Heavy Devastator carries a giant shield that you must bypass or penetrate with anti-tank weapons. Beware of Missile Destroyers as they can deal massive damage to you from long range.

Commissioners One of the weakest Automatons in the game, basically an Invader with a gun and a sword. The real threat from commissioners is their ability summon Dropships by firing a flare. Take them out before they can, otherwise you’ll have a whole squad of bots on you in no time.
Dropshipping These ships can be destroyed, but the real threat is the Automatons on board. If the commissioner calls for a dropship, it would be best to do so shoot at the center of the ship with an explosive weaponlike a grenade launcher. This can eliminate bots before they can fall, saving you from having to fight them.
Hulk Bruisers/Obliterators/Scorchers

Hulk Automaton is something straight out of Warhammer 40K and comes in three variants: Bruisers, Obliterators and Scorchers. Bruisers have two powerful assault rifles, Obliterators add rocket pods, and Incinerators have flamethrowers.

The weak point of each of them is the same, i.e a glowing vent on the back of the bot. If you can’t get behind the Hulk, use the railgun to destroy the weapon or use a stratagem such as the orbital railgun.

Destroyer Tanks

The biggest evil on Automaton’s side is the Annihilator tank. These massive tanks have a devastating cannon that will take you out of range, and a machine gun on the front that will mow you down if you get too close.

Again, there is a glowing weak spot on the back, but with these beasts we recommend not getting involved and just use your best stratagems to take them out.
