Claire accuses a man under OQTF of rape

A man subject to an OQTF was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention. He is accused of another rape, committed in similar circumstances.

Suspected of having successively committed two rapes in two building halls in Paris on November 11, a man subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention, BFMTV learned from a source police, confirming information from Le Figaro.

While investigations continue, one of the two complainants, aged 26, testified on BFMTV this Monday, December 18. “I had dinner with my boyfriend, I was coming back from Monoprix which is a ten minute walk from my house. I push my front door, it’s a large Parisian porte cochere, it takes a long time to close,” describes Claire Geronimi.

“I walk five meters into the lobby of the building and I hear footsteps behind me. I am pushed against the ground, they strangle me. I scream and I struggle, there is no one around,” says the young woman, a resident of the 8th arrondissement of the capital.

“He said to me ‘shut up or I’ll kill you’, I thought he just wanted to steal my bag. He wants more. »

“I can’t leave the house alone. »

The young self-entrepreneur’s ordeal lasts, according to her, around twenty minutes, and ends when a neighbor arrives in the hall. The individual then fled with his victim’s shopping bag, “which allowed his identification”, she specifies.

The neighbor, for her part, “leaves her a little alone” to “take her Uber and go on vacation,” Claire regrets. Injured by a glass bottle and undressed, the young woman then locks herself in her home to call the police.

Nearly a month after the alleged events, the psychological consequences are serious. “I can’t leave the house alone, have coffee with friends or take the metro. I have trouble concentrating,” she lists.

“It’s important to talk about it, it’s not our fault. If women don’t talk about it, it will continue,” insists the young woman, who adds that she finds it “complicated” to ask for help from an association and who wants to “make things happen from a point of view. political view “. so that the OQTFs are applied. “It’s not normal, it’s not a subject that should be let go,” she adds.

“The case is judged criminal so an investigating judge was seized and Claire became a civil party,” explains the plaintiff’s lawyer, Maître Romain Vanni, who adds that the investigation is only just underway. at its beginnings.
