This “speed madman”, according to the prosecution, had been wanted since the spring, when the police had spotted for the first time the Instagram account where he broadcast his videos.
He liked to film himself during dangerous overtaking on the highway, at speeds sometimes exceeding 250 km/h.
More than 70 sports cars rented abroad
In the space of two years, again according to the prosecution’s account, this man is suspected of having “rented more than 70 sports cars registered abroad (Germany, Poland)” in order to commit his crimes in Belgium.
He was eventually arrested on December 7 while allegedly driving under the influence of cannabis and made the subject of a “driving ban” following a conviction.
He was charged by an investigating judge with “various traffic offenses”, and on Thursday the Brussels Court of Appeal authorized him to continue his preventive detention under an electronic bracelet.
As in the case of this “influencer”, driving without a driving license or in a state of intoxication is “punishable by heavy penalties which can go as far as imprisonment”, recalls the prosecution, which “will continue to closely monitor the accounts on social media promoting speed.” .
