“I could never have imagined this.” In 2018, Pablo Karmel met Ronnie Fleg, the creator of Kith. In fifteen minutes, the latter asked him to join the family of his streetwear brand. As a child, Pablo Karmel did not like school where his creativity was locked away. Growing up, he found a source of inspiration in his hometown: New York. A free space where expression mixes with fashion. So when the designer asked him to join his ranks, there was no doubt.
From salesman to general manager of the Kith SoHo flagship store in London, he learned alongside the man he considers his mentor. “He saw something in me: as if I needed to think 10 years in advance,” he confides. One day, Ronnie Fleg asked him to supervise the first Kith Paris store. “I said yes without hesitation. 10 days later, I was in Paris.”
For two years, he has anchored the Kith style in his establishment a few steps from the Arc de Triomphe. As you walk through its doors, hundreds of pieces mingle with the good life of its restaurant, Sadelle’s. “Come several times and you will be welcomed not as a customer, but as a friend.” His favorite collection? “Always next, for now this is our last summer collection. Ask me again when you’ve printed this, and I bet I’ll have a different answer.”
