Namco opens Pac-Man cafe in Chicago

Namco will open next January in Schaumburg, Illinois. Level 257a brand new Pac-Man-inspired restaurant and entertainment center in a former Sears warehouse at Woodfield Mall in suburban Chicago.

The place will be 40,000 square feet and will offer no less than 180 seats according to the project’s Tumblr page. In addition to this, the publisher is looking broader with a complex bringing together 16 shops, a bowling alley or even an arcade room in retro colors to match the world of Pac-Man.

Fans of the little yellow ball will even have the chance to discover a sort of museum dedicated to the character as well as a shop offering as many products as possible in the colors of the legendary hero. Some of you may have guessed it, but the name of the place is not chosen at random. Level 257 represents a mandatory Game Over due to a glitch that appeared at the end of level 256 of the title.

Once created, this meeting place for fans will host the character’s 35th anniversary next May. To find out more about this project, it is always possible to subscribe to the latter’s official Facebook page.
