In the first PES we used to play with Catalonia against Chamartín, but today we find it strange to play without real names. PES 2017 users playing on Playstation 4 and PC have the option of downloading a patch to instantly edit the names of all unlicensed teams, but this is not the case in the other versions. Some users claim that changing all the elements without a license (leagues, kits, stadiums, teams …) can take up to 40 hours, but by changing the names of the teams we will prevent El Clásico from being a Barcelona FC. – MD White or that Guardiola and Mourinho face each other as Man Blue and Man Red.

What leagues are officially licensed in PES 2017?
Although they are not La Liga or the Premier League, PES 2017 has a few licenses. We will not have to edit the teams of these championships:
- League 1
- League 2
- Eredivisie
- Serie A – except Juventus, Sassuolo, and the league’s own name.
- Brazilian Championship Series A
- Chilean First Division
- Argentina First Division
- AFC Champions League (Asian Football Confederation)
Important: the Bundesliga is not represented in any way. Some German teams such as Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen or Schalke 04 appear in the category “Other European teams”, but this list highlights the absence of the German league champion: Bayern Munich.
