Even though the PlayStation 5 doesn’t officially have an internet browser at the moment, you can use a simple trick to open a browser and use it to surf the internet and access websites. Open PS5 web browser
If you want to open and use the web browser on the PS5, you have to proceed as follows.
- Start the PlayStation 5 and open the settings.
- Under “Users and Accounts” and “Link to other services” and select “YouTube” or “Twitter”.
- Using “Link account” you can now open the browser and navigate to the Twitter or YouTube website using the “Back” button or other links and, for example, open the Google search (select terms of use and then search at the top right) and then others Open websites.
The URL address or address bar in the PS5 browser cannot be used, at least not yet. It is therefore not possible to enter a URL directly, but you have to navigate to the website you are looking for using the links or the Google search engine.
PS5 browser in full screen?
As mentioned above, the PS5 browser is not yet “official” and can only be opened using the trick described above. Unlike the PS4 browser, you can (unfortunately) not yet display the web browser on the new Sony console in full screen using the square button. The only thing you can use in the browser is the zoom function, which you can switch through in different zoom levels with the L3 button (press the left analog stick).
It will probably only be a matter of time before Sony officially releases the browser on the PS5 and then you will certainly be able to use the internet browser in full screen. Until then, we just have to wait and drink tea.
