Amazon Prime Lite: A Low-Cost Option Now Available in India

Amazon’s latest service, Prime Lite, has successfully completed its experimental period and is now available in India. If you’re looking for a low-cost membership model that still incorporates some of Amazon Prime’s most popular features, Prime Lite could be the answer. Here’s a full look at what this new service has to offer.

Amazon Prime Lite: Price and Benefits

Amazon Prime Lite costs Rs 999 per year, which is the same as the full Amazon Prime annual subscription. This trimmed-down version of Prime retains attractive features like access to Prime Video and free two-day shipping. Subscribers can also benefit from a 5% reward possibility by using the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card. Not to mention, early access to sales and promotional deals is included with this bundle.

Subscribers can opt for morning delivery to certain addresses for an extra payment of Rs 175 per product. However, it’s crucial to remember that this low-cost strategy comes with some drawbacks.

The Amazon Prime Lite Subscription’s Drawbacks

The Prime Lite subscription does not include access to Prime Music, Prime Reading, or Prime Gaming. The popular one-day or same-day delivery option is also lacking, which has proven to be a significant advantage in a variety of situations.

There are also certain limitations to Prime Video subscription. For example, members will only be allowed to stream HD video on two devices at the same time. Furthermore, adverts are integrated into the viewing experience, similar to Netflix’s goal of providing diversified content at a lower cost with ad support.

Other Amazon Prime Subscription Alternatives

If you want to experience all of the perks of a complete Amazon Prime subscription, the higher-tier plan, which costs Rs 1,499 per year, might be a better option. However, if the aforementioned exclusions do not represent a substantial concern, the savings from choosing the Prime Lite plan may be justified!
