Timothée Chalamet wears the suit in a way that won’t please purists

Timothée Chalamet doesn’t do anything like everyone else. Arrived in Mexico City, barely a few hours after lighting up the red carpet in Los Angeles for the promotional tour for the second part of Dune, the young man stood out again thanks to his clothing choices. This February 6, the actor had swapped his more streetwear look from the day before (including a tank top with a puffed neck) for a more classic variation… This Tuesday in Mexico, Timothée Chalamet appeared in a suit by Prada, posing with his hands crossed and the mysterious gaze on the stage of the Auditorio Nacional. Rarely, the 28-year-old Franco-American wore this suit – of rather classic design and appearance – in a somewhat unexpected way.

Should we wear the costume like Timothée Chalamet?

The subversive aspect of the look here lies mainly in the way Timothée Chalamet rolled up the sleeves of his suit jacket. Raised up to the level of the elbows, they disappear to leave visible only the black sleeves of the shirt in a rather unusual gesture and, it must be admitted, moderately successful. The black shirt is also, probably too much, visible and close to the chest, because the suit jacket only has two buttons. Also note that Timothée Chalamet added to the outfit, an unbuttoned belt with the Prada logo, again evident. Last singularity of the look: the 28-year-old young man tucked the jacket into his pants. A way of wearing a costume that may not please or suit everyone.

Especially when we know that Prada designed this gray English mohair wool suit especially for Chalamet. The Italian house is one of the actor’s favorite brands. In Toronto last December for the premiere of Wonka, Timmy, for example, adopted a gradient jacquard suit jacket from the house managed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, part of which (the bottom of the jacket) was matched with black mohair pants. As for shoes, the actor most often opts for leather boots. Unsurprisingly, this was the case in Mexico City yesterday, except that this time they were distinguished by their pointed toe. A nod to the western trend brought up to date by Pharrell during the last Louis Vuitton men’s show?
