How to fix crash on startup error in Helldivers 2
In Helldivers 2 this is possible fix crash issue on startup by disabling steam input. You can also delete the Gameguard folder located in the game files and add the newly created one to the antivirus protection whitelist.

1. Disabling Steam Input
To disable Steam input in Helldivers 2, you need to follow these steps:
- open Couple
- Go to Library
- Make right click ON Helldivers 2
- Choose “Real estate” option
- Go to “Controllers“tab
- Now select “Turn off the steam input” option with “Overwrite“drop down menu
This will fix the startup crash in Helldivers 2, but if it doesn’t, use the next fix.
2. Gameguard folder whitelisted
Go to the Helldivers 2 installation directory, go to the “trash” and delete the “GameGuard” folder. Then follow the steps below:
- Right-click the Helldivers 2 icon on your desktop
- To choose “Run as administrator“
- This will create a new one GameGuard file
- Open your antivirus and whitelist the entire folder in antivirus protection
- Finally, restart your computer
