“PS4 error SU-30634-6” can be due to three reasons:
Corrupted USB flash drive
Corrupted firmware file
Wrong firmware file
To fix it, you may want to follow the instructions. If you are using the original hard drive, use option 1. If you are using a new hard drive, use option 2.
Option 1. Original Hard Drive
Go to this site https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/get-help/ps4-system-software/.
Then click “DOWNLOAD NOW” to download the firmware.
Format the USB flash drive to Fat or exFAT.
Copy the firmware to your USB flash drive. The folder should say PS4, the following folder will update and paste the firmware PS4UPDATE.PUP (all caps).
Turn on your PS4, turn it off and unplug it for at least three minutes.
Insert the USB flash drive to your PS4.
Activate it and update the firmware.
If it fails, try to use another USB flash drive, also try to download the firmware again.
Option 2. Replace the hard drive
Open this site.
Scroll down and click “Perform a fresh installation of system software” to expand it.
Download the firmware by clicking “DOWNLOAD NOW”.
Format the USB flash drive to Fat or exFAT.
Create a folder on the USB flash drive.
Rename the PS4 folder. Inside the PS4 folder, create another folder and rename it UPDATE.
Next, copy and paste the downloaded firmware and name it PS4UPDATE.PUP.
Plug the USB flash drive into the PS4 and apply the update.
