What does that actually mean? small point at a Telegram voice message? What is the meaning behind the dot in a voice message and when is it displayed and not displayed? The question may look something like this from one or another user of the Telegram app who occasionally sends or receives a voice message. In this article we have created a short explanation of what this point is all about and the meaning behind it.
Telegram: Dot next to the voice message
When you send a message on Telegram, you can use the ticks to see whether a message was successfully sent and opened (and therefore probably read).
- One catch: The message was successfully sent to the Telegram cloud and the chat recipient was successfully notified.
- Two catches: The recipient has opened the chat with the message. The two ticks are not a read receipt, but if the recipient has opened the conversation, then they have most likely read the message.
By the way, the two catches not only apply to normal text messages, but also to voice messages. In addition, there is a small dot for voice messages that is displayed to the right of the voice message duration. The question arises, what does this mean? The small circle is next to the message a kind of “wiretapping confirmation”. If someone the Voice message not played yet has, then will the small dot is displayed. If the Voice message was playedthen the point disappears. By the way, the point also disappears if the voice message was only played briefly once and not listened to in its entirety.
In short, if a dot is displayed next to the Telegram voice message, then the message has not yet been listened to. If there is no longer a dot next to the voice message, then the voice message has been played and most likely listened to.
Can you deactivate the dot next to the voice message?
So far there is no way on Telegram to turn off the tick and the dot next to a voice message. This means others can also see whether you have played their voice message or not.
