Uninstall Autodesk Genuine Service in Windows 10

Uninstall Autodesk Genuine Service in Windows 10

Step 1: Terminate processes

To completely uninstall an Autodesk Genuine Service application, the first step is to terminate all processes associated with it. The easiest way to do this is “Task Manager”, but there are three additional options in Windows 10 to complete the task. This is detailed in a separate article on our website.

Here you will find a clear example with the steps to follow to complete all the steps:

  • Open “Task Manager” in any available way, for example, using a Ctrl + Shift + Esc hotkey combination.

  • If necessary, activate the display mode of the extended interface by clicking on “More details”.

  • While in the “Processes” tab. In the list of all active tasks, look for the ones with the word “Autodesk”. Pay special attention to the “Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service” and “Activator Licensing Service” processes. Next, select them successively with the left mouse button and press “Deselect task”.

  • Important! After completing all the steps described, do not restart the operating system, as the processes will start again and will have to be terminated again.

Step 2: Delete the auxiliary files

Once all Autodesk package processes are complete, you will need to delete some supporting files on the system drive so that the uninstaller can remove the utility in the future “Genuine Autodesk Service”. The data you need is in hidden folders, so you need to activate it first. There is a separate article on this topic, read it before following the instructions.

Next, navigate to the desired folder in the path below:

    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Adlm\

In it, locate the file “ProductInformation.pit” and move it to the trash. To do this, simply highlight the object and press the Delete key.

Repeat the same action with the “id.dat” file located in another part of the system drive, at this address:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Genuine Autodesk Service\

Take note! In some cases there may be more dependent files, so if the uninstall fails, it is recommended to remove the Autodesk folders with all attachments:

    C:\NProgramData\NAutodesk
    C:|Users|AppData|Local|Autodesk

    Step 3: Uninstall

Once all the preparations are done, you can proceed directly to uninstalling the Autodesk Genuine Customer Service app, but it is important to do it correctly. Windows 10 has several system partitions that provide the necessary tools to uninstall software. Another article on the web describes how to open them and provides brief guides on how to use them.
