(UPDATE)Evolve unveils a new monster

This morning, it’s with a little luck that we discover one of the new monsters in the Evolve cast in advance. As you will see in a few moments, a smart guy had the good idea to film the new 2K Games video in advance using a cell phone during its presentation to a small group.

This allows us to see a flying monster which has the possibility of splitting itself to take by surprise the 4 hunters who are trying to annihilate it. Armed with blades integrated into its arms, the monster of the day seems to move extremely quickly and only teamwork should make it possible to overcome it.

(UPDATE) Paris, December 18, 2014 – 2K and Turtle Rock Studios announce that the Open Beta for Evolve™, the highly anticipated 4v1 shooter, will be available exclusively on Xbox One from January 15 to 19, 2015. Evolve is a new generation of shooter in which four hunters face off against a unique monster, itself controlled by a player, in adrenaline-filled 4v1 matches. To date, Evolve has won over 60 awards and Editors’ Choices – making it the most critically acclaimed title of 2015. Evolve is the only game in history to win the official “Game of the Show” titles at E3 and Gamescom in the same year.

As soon as the Xbox One exclusive Open Beta begins on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at noon, players will be able to discover Evolve’s “Hunting” mode, with the possibility of unlocking new monsters and new hunters during the game. New hunters and monsters unlocked in the Xbox One Open Beta will be usable in the final version of the game. Starting January 17, Xbox One Open Beta players will get exclusive access to Evacuation mode, the dynamic campaign from Evolve which brings together a wide choice of maps and game modes in a unique and replayable gaming experience. More details on the Xbox One Open Beta can be found on the official Evolve blog:

2K and Turtle Rock Studios are also revealing the third playable monster, as well as a whole new way to experience the Evolve experience offline.

  • Specter – The third playable monster is a small, terrifying, stealthy assassin who moves quickly and has two exceptional long blades for dealing damage at close quarters. Possessing less health and armor than other monsters in Evolve, Specter has fast moves that allow it to dodge and avoid taking damage during fights. Full details on Specter’s four skills (Explosive Distortion, Abduction, Lure, and Supernova) as well as videos of Specter in action can be found on the official Evolve blog:
  • Offline Single Player Experience – Every character, map, and mode in Evolve can be played entirely offline with a single player facing computer-controlled opponents. In single-player mode, whether you play the monster or choose to move from position to position in the hunter team, Evolve’s unique 4v1 gameplay is particularly enjoyable. Evacuation mode brings together all the maps and game modes in this unique and replayable gaming experience. Full details about the Evolve single-player gaming experience, including videos, are available on the official Evolve blog:

“2K and Turtle Rock Studios are creating more than just a competitive multiplayer gaming experience,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “Evolve’s addictive 4v1 gameplay creates intense gaming moments that you’ll enjoy alone in offline mode, cooperatively with friends taking on the AI, or competing against other players online.”
