Many companies rely on Microsoft Teams, especially in everyday working life. The software from the Office 365 package is ideal for chatting and planning workflows and projects. You can also use Teams for conferences with or without images.
You can communicate with your work colleagues not only via your computer or smartphone, but also via smart speakers. This is particularly convenient during telephone conferences. However, not every speaker supports the Microsoft application. Google devices like Google Nest are also not compatible with Teams. Practical control of the chat via Google Assistant is therefore not possible.
Use Microsoft Teams with Google Nest
While you can’t start a meeting via Teams, there is a way you can at least hear your colleagues’ voices from Google Nest. All you need to do is have the Microsoft Teams app on your mobile device and connect it to the Google speaker via Bluetooth. The smart speaker thus becomes a Bluetooth box. However, you cannot answer via the integrated microphone of your Google Nest, it only works via your cell phone.
So that you can be heard via your Google Nest when making calls, you have to use another application. The in-house software Google Duo is best suited for making calls using the smart speaker. In the linked instructions we show you how to make the connection and make the first call.
