The chat tool WhatsApp has made its way into our everyday lives in various ways. You probably use Messenger almost every day to keep friends, acquaintances and work colleagues up to date.
Abbreviations like lol and fml have long since made their way into the common language of some people. In written communication, facial expressions can intuitively be replaced by emojis. But an Indian perfume manufacturer is taking things even further.
Galaxy Marketing sells an eau de parfum in India under the John Phillips brand that is said to smell like WhatsApp. But what does the messenger smell like?
Musk, ginger and more
Galaxy Marketing describes the smell of the perfume on the packaging as follows: “The emotions symbolized by the odor mixture range from innocent to sensually intense to stimulating.”
An entry on the Indian online retailer Flipkart describes the scent in more detail. The scent is described as “woody”. It contains, among other things, white musk, ginger, citrus fruits but also patchouli and roses.
Not an official WhatsApp product
Although the design of the packaging suggests this, the WhatsApp perfume is probably not an official product of the messenger service. Therefore, it is unlikely that this bizarre perfume will make it to Germany. If you like, you can of course import the WhatsApp perfume from India.
The scent joins a long list of strange perfumes. The company Omega Ingredients has dedicated the “Eau de Space” to space.
Some time ago, the tax office in Karlsruhe sold the perfume “Aerarium,” which is said to smell like freshly printed banknotes, as part of a conceptual artwork. Meanwhile, Ford is trying to make the switch to electric cars easier with a perfume that smells like gasoline, rubber and horses.
