Avtotor showed the first prototype of the Russian electric car Amber

The Avtotor company published a photo of its first prototype of the Amber electric car, which was created on the basis of parts from Lada Vesta. The photo is available in the “Autostream” telegram channel.

The prototype has a two-door body with an unusual design of the front end and running boards. However, the production version of Amber, as the creators say, will look different.

The prototype is currently being used to test the platform and units that will be installed on production electric cars. Details about the technical characteristics of Amber are not yet known, but it was reported that it will have a frame-panel design and Russian-made power electronics.

Avtotor, together with Rosatom, is also building a plant for the production of batteries for electric cars, which will be able to produce up to 60 thousand batteries per year.

Serial production of Amber will begin in 2025 in Kaliningrad. The plant plans to produce 50 thousand electric cars per year. Amber will have several modifications for different purposes, including for youth and people with disabilities.

In addition, Amber will have the ability to install traditional internal combustion engines.
