Baldur’s Gate 3: Trust or betray Queen Githyanki…

If you visit the Githyanki Nursery, you will meet their Lich Queen Vlaakith. She will entrust you with difficult tasks, but can you trust her or must you betray her?

Shortly after meeting Lae’zel at the start of the game, she will offer to go to the Githyanki Creche in order to get rid of your parasites. Even if you don’t believe his idea will actually be the solution to your problems, you should definitely go to daycare, and here we’ll tell you why.

  • to start!

In order to reach the Githyanki Nativity Scene, you will need to take the mountain pass to the right of the goblin camp in act 1.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Vlaakith: Why You Should Visit Githyanki Nativity Scene

After recruiting Shadowheart to your party, you will find that she is carrying a mysterious item with her, the Artifact. In order to know more about the truth behind this artifactyou need to go to the Nursery, where the Githyanki can tell you more.

Besides that this is also an important area to deepen your relationship with Lae’zel, the Creche is the key to discovering many principles of the Baldur’s Gate 3 story. Especially if you want to know more about your dream visitor (i.e. your Guardian that you created at the start of the game).

Once you enter the manger, you won’t be able to leave until you continue with the story. You will technically be able to leave, but if you try to do so, Lae’zel and all the other Githyanki will attack you. You can survive this encounter by killing everyone, but that includes Lae’zel.

  • !

So, if you plan to enter this area, make sure you are well prepared, because some tough battles await you.

How to learn more about the artifact

This story point is one that many will miss, as it involves the abandonment of the artifact. But rest assured, you won’t give up the artifact for good. The artifact is bound to you, so even if you give it to Captain Githyanki, she’ll have to take you to the Inquisitor.

You can either decide to accompany the captain to the inquisitor or kill the captain beforehand. In any case, you will still be able to access the Inquisitor’s Room. If you kill the captain, you will need to destroy the crystal stone nearby to enter the room.

Only after killing the Inquisitor will Vlaakith appear. Once she enters the room, she will order you to enter a portal to the artifact in order to kill your Guardian in the astral plane.

Should you trust your tutor or Vlaakith

At this point it is important to follow the queen’s orders, whether or not you plan to kill your Guardian. If you don’t follow Vlaakith’s orders and try to get out of this situation, you will anger the Githyanki and Lae’zel, and they will try to kill you immediately. Once again, you can survive this attack, but risk losing Lae’zel and missing important aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3’s story.

We therefore recommend that you go through the portal and enter the astral plane. As soon as you step onto the plane, you’ll be faced with the decision of whether or not to kill your dream visitor. This answer is quite simple: do not kill your Guardian.

You will only encounter downsides if you attempt to kill your Guardian. It’s a magical creature that can’t be killed and they know it.

This situation is a test of whether they can trust you or not. If you choose to kill your dream visitor, Vlaakith will betray you and your Guardian will no longer trust you. For this reason, your actions may have serious consequences for you in the future.

If you choose to trust the visitor of your dreams rather than Vlaakith and decide to spare his life, he will tell you more about the Parasite Illithid in your head and what Vlaakith plans. After that, you can return to the manger and telepathically inform Lae’zel of Vlaakith’s plans.

As soon as Vlaakith discovers that you betrayed her, she will attack you. Lae’zel will stick with his party in this case and will even kill his own people to keep you safe.

Be ready for this fight, it won’t be easy.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Meeting Vlaakith in Act 3

During your adventures in Act 3, you will eventually face the Lich Queen Vlaakith again. She will catch you during your Long Rest and try to convince you to join her, especially if you went against her wishes (). It’s a serpent with a silver tongue that does its best to deceive you.

If you’ve already made up your mind to betray her and don’t want to change your plans, most things will stay the same. You will work with Voss to rescue Prince Orpheus. But if you decide to trust him and encourages Lae’zel to do the same, you seal the fate of all three – Voss, Orpheus and Lae’zel. Queen Vlaakith will consume everyone and continue to reign as the Lich Queen, feeding her people more lies.
