This question may concern one or two players of the new title from Kojima Productions who would like to play the game in English instead of German. By default, both the disc and download versions are started and displayed in German, at least if you have changed the system language. Unlike some other games, you can easily change the game language in Death Stranding.
Switch Death Stranding to English: Here’s how
On the one hand, you can simply change the system language on the PS4 to the desired language, such as English, and then Death Stranding should also adopt the language setting. But it’s even easier, because unlike many other games, the game comes with a language setting in the game options, where you can change the language pack directly from the game.
- Start Death Stranding and open the options in the main menu.
- In the game options you will find the “Language Settings” as the second to last menu item.
- In addition to the “language of the voice output”, you can also set the “text language” here and, for example, switch to English. You can also still view the subtitles in German.
By the way, in our case we didn’t have to download the English language pack separately after changing the setting.
