In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth you will probably ride chocobos a few times. And if Red XIII is on the team, then Red XIII also rides a chocobo. We’ve known this since the current trailer and it’s also possible in the TGS demo. Some fans find this funny, but some also find it quite strange.

“So we discussed it a lot and agreed on Mr. Nomura’s idea of how he should ride the chocobo,” Hamaguchi said. So it was Tetsuya Nomura’s idea. Ultimately, it is also the opinion that this represents the “comical elements” of the series, which are also representative of the FF7 games, even against the background of the serious plot.
