We are going to explain to you how to unlink your mobile number from your Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. Viral challenges such as ‘Neighbor by number’ can be dangerous for your privacy, since someone you don’t know can add you to their agenda and access your linked accounts on different social networks through your phone number.
And is that most social networks use information such as the numbers you have in your agenda to propose new users to follow. Therefore, it is important that if you want to prevent this from happening, you unlink the phone number, although remember that by doing so you will also be unable to find possible contacts from your agenda in them.
Unlink your phone number from Facebook
We started with Facebook. In the application of the social network, you have to go directly to your profile. Once inside your profile page, you have to click on the option * Edit profile that will appear just below the name next to the options to see it as another person and * More *.
You will enter a page with options to change your cover photo, main details or featured images on your profile. Here, you will have to click on the option to Edit your profile information that you will see at the bottom of the page, after all the other elements that you can change.
You will now enter a screen where you can edit all the elements of your profile one by one. In it, go to the Contact Information section, and click on the edit icon next to your phone number to edit it.
A screen will open where you can change who can see the phone number or link different ones to your profile. On this screen, click on the button * Delete mobile numbers in the account settings that you will see just below and voila, you can unlink your number.
Unlink your phone number from Instagram
On Instagram the procedure is similar, but even faster. First you have to enter your profile (1) by clicking on the icon with the bust. Once you are in it and see your information, click on the Edit profile button (2) that will appear between your information and your publications.
Once inside the editing options you can change all the data that you have added to Instagram. Here, click on the phone number that you have in the corresponding section within the Private Information category to edit the number linked to your account.
Once inside, Instagram will ask you to write or rewrite your phone number. What you have to do here is delete your phone number and click Next. By doing so, the number you had will be unlinked from your account. Remember that if you later try to find people that you have on your agenda, Instagram will ask you again for your phone number.
Unlink your phone number from Twitter
And finally there is Twitter. To proceed here you have to open the side menu by clicking on your profile image at the top left or by sliding your finger from the left side of the screen to the center. Once this side menu opens, click on the Settings and privacy option that will appear at the bottom.
You will see that there are several sections in the configuration screen. In it, you have to go to the first one in which your profile name appears, and click on the Account option that appears first. By doing so you will go on to configure your user account on Twitter.
When you enter your account settings, you will see that you can change practically all the data that you have established in your profile. Here, click on your phone number in the Phone category in the Login and security section.
When you click on your phone number, a window with several options will open. In her, tap on Delete phone number to simply delete the one you have linked. You will also see an option to update it, which means that you will change it for another.
