Jordan Peele and Dev Patel join forces and give us the first candidate to be the big action movie of 2024. Brutal trailer for ‘Monkey Man’

It’s clear that Jordan Peele isn’t wasting any time. While he is preparing his next feature film as a director, which should be released this Christmas of 2024 and which has had to be delayed – still without a date – until the next film year, he has produced what, from now on, judging by its overwhelming trailer, is one of the strong candidates to fight for the position of best action film of 2024: ‘Monkey Man’.

Dev

In the three minutes that the trailer lasts, we are treated to a salad of stylized hosts executed in the purest ‘John Wick’ style in which Dev Patel, who acts as the protagonist and debut director, distributes tow as revenge between punches, stabs and point-blank shots. A delight for fans of the genre that, surprisingly, had been stored in the refrigerator for three years.

The premise of ‘Monkey Man’, inspired by the legend of the Hindu deity Hanmanreads the following:

“An anonymous young man makes a precarious living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is savagely beaten by more popular fighters in exchange for money. After years of suppressed rage, the boy discovers a way to infiltrate the city’s sinister elite. As her childhood trauma simmers, her mysteriously scarred hands unleash explosive revenge to settle scores with the men who took everything from her.”

The feature film, starring Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar and Adithi Kalkunte, was originally intended to be released on Netflix after purchasing it for 30 million, but an agreement by Monkeypaw, Peele’s production company, with Universal, has secured a theatrical release. At the moment, we know that Its release date is set for April 5 in the United States.. I hope that its arrival in Spain is confirmed soon, because what a look this is.
