Netflix makes it clear that Telecinco has really screwed up with ‘Entrevías’. The thriller with José Coronado is officially the number 1 Spanish series on the platform in 2023

Netflix recently surprised us by releasing a complete report on the audiences of more than 18,000 titles in its catalog around the world, in which it was concluded that ‘The Night Agent’ was its biggest success in the first half of 2023. However, now we are going to focus on its Spanish series, since the tremendous success achieved there by ‘Entrevías’ has served to surpass any of the platform’s own original productions.

Premiered on Netflix on March 1, season 2 of ‘Entrevías’ adds 140.1 million hours played during that semesterbeing the most viewed Spanish fiction on the platform during that period and also occupying 59th place in the world on that list with more than 18,000 titles.

Besides, season 1 also sneaks into position 102 with 97.6 million hours played. Not bad if we take into account that it arrived on Netflix on May 20, 2022 and only during its first five weeks – which it lasted in the Top 10 in history – it added 148.06 million more…

It is clear that Netflix must be delighted with how ‘Entrevías’ works and it would not be a surprise if they have at least considered the possibility of Telecinco accepting season 4 to be seen first on the platform. Ultimately, the third, still without a date for its premiere on Netflix, has sunk in audiences, ceasing to be the great success that it was during its first two installments.

Whether that is possible is a separate issue, but we already have the precedent that Telecinco accepted that the seasons of ‘La que se cerca’ be launched first on Amazon Prime Video, so It is impossible neither. Furthermore, no surprises if many viewers have decided to stop watching it on Telecinco and wait patiently to be able to enjoy it without an overdose of commercial breaks on Netflix.

And the rest of the Spanish Netflix series?

If you have been left wondering which are the original Spanish Netflix series that are closest to ‘Entrevías’, the one that is closest is ‘The Snow Girl’, which totaled 134.8 million hours watched. Of course, it premiered on January 27, so it had more time to add views, and not even for that did it manage to surpass the thriller starring Jose Coronado.

The third position is in the hands of ‘The Silence’, since the miniseries created by Aitor Gabilondo It reached 115.8 million hours played. In addition, it has double merit, since it did not arrive on Netflix until May 19, 2023, so it had just over a month to achieve that data.

Yes indeed, perhaps the biggest surprise It means seeing that then we have season 2 of ‘Welcome to Eden’ with 104.5 million hours watched, since Netflix did not hesitate to cancel it despite the fact that it globally occupies 91st place on the list – and that it premiered on the 21st. April, so it had just over two months left to add viewers. And we all took for granted that season 3 that we will never see again…

Curiously, fifth place belongs to season 1 of ‘Entrevías’ with the data already mentioned before, while in sixth place we have ‘Machos Alfa’ with 78.2 million hours played. Taking into account that the series from the creators of ‘The one that is coming’ premiered on January 1, there is no need to add anything to those figures. In fact, quite the opposite, since its episodes are shorter than those of the rest of the series, so the metric used works against it.
