Paris Games Week 2014: record attendance and winners

That’s it, the Paris Games Week closed its doors yesterday and it is now time to take stock.

This year again, the Parisian show will have largely beaten its figures from last year, since this edition attracted 272,000 visitors, or 27,000 more than last year. For this 2014 vintage, the show also wanted to move up a gear in terms of usable space, since no less than 50,000 square meters were available for visitors, which represents 18,000 more than the previous edition, enough stroll through the aisles of the show in the best possible conditions.

With growing success over the years, the show is now approaching the attendance figures of Gamescom (the largest public show in existence, editor’s note), which was able to claim 335,000 entries this year.

As a result, the General Delegate of SELL, Emmanuel Martin, welcomed this success. Here are his words:

“We are in the presence of a historic 5th edition. The event welcomed 272,000 visitors, and each of them was able to enjoy the show in good conditions: the new facilities, the mobilization of 2,500 people for the organization and the 50% increase in surface area were bore fruit. We welcomed 125 exhibitors this year, compared to 80 last year. It was really about offering spaces adapted to the new dimension of the show. We are particularly satisfied and are already preparing the next edition with enthusiasm.”

In addition, the show also awarded its prizes thanks to the votes of a jury composed in particular of professionals in the sector. Here are the lucky ones.

  • Show prize: Assassin’s Creed Unity (Ubisoft)
  • Action – Combat Prize: Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo)
  • Action – Adventure Prize 2014: Assassin’s Creed Unity (Ubisoft)
