Sims 4 prom not working and not happening?

Why doesn’t prom work in The Sims 4? For what reason does the prom not take place in Sims 4 even though you have already asked for a dance partner or even received an invitation and nothing actually stands in the way of the event? This may be the question asked by one or two Sims 4 players in the last few days who have purchased the new expansion called “High School Years”. The expansion comes with numerous new features, including the prom, which you can attend with a Sim. The problem is, for some players the event with the prom doesn’t appear and the question arises as to why that is and what conditions must be met for the event to take place.

Sims 4 High School Years: Prom is not possible?

In order to attend prom in The Sims 4 High School, you don’t actually have to do much other than play and participate in college life. After a while a window with the prom appears and you can either take part or cancel. The prom takes place at the end of the week or on Saturday and is also shown as an event in the household calendar.

The According to reports There seems to be a problem for some players because the prom doesn’t work or doesn’t take place and never appears in a hint window in the game. Even if the exact cause is not yet known, according to reports it is mainly due to mods such as the MCCC, which for unknown reasons “block” the prom and do not allow it to take place. Unfortunately, it is not yet entirely clear which mods are causing the problem, so you have to do some trial and error testing.

Prom not happening? Disable mods

So if you have problems with the prom in Sims 4 High School, you should deactivate the mods as a test and try it again. The problem will probably resolve itself in the coming weeks as the mods are adapted and made compatible with the high school year expansion. Until then, if you have problems with the prom and other bugs in the high school years expansion, only deactivating individual or all mods will probably help.
