Skull and Bones: Find and farm scrap metal

In the new Skull & Bones from Ubisoft, in addition to ships, you can also create various other items such as weapons, hull armor, ship equipment, and also consumable items. To produce the items, you often need not only the corresponding blueprint, but also various materials. While some materials are relatively easy to find, other materials require a little more searching, and some players may feel the same way about scrap metal. In this short guide we show where you can get plenty of scrap metal.

Farming scrap metal in Skull & Bones

Like the torn sail or the rusty nails, scrap metal is one of the “waste materials” in Skull and Bones. The waste materials can be found relatively easily and can also be farmed in larger quantities by looting the shipwrecks. The shipwrecks can be found on every corner and the locations are also shown on the revealed map with a symbol of a half-sunken ship. After looting the ship with the crowbar via the little “mini-game”, you can go straight to the next shipwreck. By the way, the looted wrecks respawn after a certain time, so you can use them again and again to farm mats and silver.

In order to loot the shipwrecks, you need the crowbar. The crowbar is automatically unlocked within the first few quests such as “Pirate Treaty”. In the later areas you need an improved crowbar. You can unlock crowbar 2 or crowbar 3 from the carpenter. However, unlocking the crowbar upgrades is tied to the fame level, so you have to farm a little fame before you get the best crowbar. For the beginning and for farming scrap metal, the crowbar at level 1 is sufficient.

As mentioned, looting not only gives you normal mats and silver, but also the other waste materials:

  • Torn sail
  • Broken plank
  • Plundered wood
  • Rusty nails
  • thrash metal
