Sony’s executive vice president thinks there will be a PS5

With every generation of consoles, there is always someone who predicts that it will be the last. This will not yet be the case since Masayasu Itoexecutive vice president of Sony Computer Entertainmentsaid that there will be a new generation for Playstation, which in itself is not news especially after the success of the PS4, but it remains to be seen what form this generation will take.

I think there will be a PS5. However, I don’t know in what form. It could be a physical console or it could be using the cloud system.
But even if the form may change, PS5 games will be released. This is what we want.

This is not the first time that we have mentioned the fact of no longer having physical consoles, especially for Sony after its acquisition of Gaikai and the launch of PS Now. Despite this, we must remain lucid, at present (and even for the next generation) and given the inequality of player connections, it is impossible to have the same rendering as when playing offline, which therefore degrades the user experience (lag, less technically accomplished, etc.)
