2K has confirmed to SamaGame that Civilization 6 does not have online multiplayer on Switch, but it does have local multiplayer.
Reddit user WinneonSword noted that the game’s description on the eShop specified that Civ 6 on Switch could be played via local network multiplayer, but there was no mention of online.
In the thread there is speculation about the possibility that it will arrive later through a patch, but 2K has denied this possibility to our English colleagues in an e-mail:
“Civilization 6 for Nintendo Switch includes support for local co-op and competitive multiplayer for up to four players over a Wireless Network. It will not have online multiplayer.”
Civilization 6 for Nintendo Switch will be released on November 16.
In the Spanish eShop only the first highlighted line appears, the multiplayer in local network is not indicated
