Cyberpunk 2077: Dialogue symbols and their meaning

What is the meaning of the dialogue icons in Cyberpunk 2077? Why do some dialogs display an icon in front of the individual options and others not? Anyone who has already spent an hour or two in Night City and spoken to a few NPCs will certainly have seen and wondered about the dialogue options with symbols such as a yin-yang symbol or a wrench symbol what it is all about and why the symbols sometimes appear.

What do the symbols in the dialogues mean?

If you look at the dialogue symbols, some people might notice that they have already seen the symbols somewhere. The symbols are the attribute symbols such as the yin-yang symbol for coolness, the fist symbol for constitution or the wrench symbol for technical skills.

  • Fist symbol – constitution
  • Lens/circle symbol – reflections
  • Wrench Icon – Technical Skill
  • Eight points symbol – intelligence
  • Yin Yang symbol – coolness

If the yin-yang symbol with the number 5 is displayed in a dialogue such as with the XBD dealer where you can buy the Braindance, then you can only select the dialogue option if you have the coolness attribute on brought level 5. In order to level up the attributes you have to collect the so-called attribute points. Unlike the advantage points, the attributes or attribute points cannot be reset, so you cannot change skills here.

In addition to the symbols of the attributes, there are also symbols of the paths of life in the dialogues. In this case, you should choose the option that suits your chosen path in life.

  • C – Corp
  • N – Nomad
  • S – Street Kid

What do the colors mean in the dialog options?

The yellow dialogue options are mission-related dialogues and the blue dialogue options are dialogues with additional information that you don’t necessarily have to listen to. By the way, there are also occasionally two yellow dialogue options that have an impact on the course of the mission.

Cyberpunk 2077 bigger than Lord of the Rings. 466 hours of dialogue in different languages

IN LETTER:

  • Cyberpunk 2077 has 73,789 dialogue lines which consist of 2,661,122 characters with no spaces or 590,480 words;
  • it means that in terms of volume, CD Projekt RED’s production is higher from Lord of the Rings.
  • The guide that was sent to the reviewers of Cyberpunk 2077 reveals a lot of numbers related to the game scenario. It turns out that if you counted the number of words in the latest CD Projekt RED production, then it would be bigger than many books – including the famous fantasy series Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien.

In the English version of Cyberpunk 2077 we will find a total of 73 789 dialogue lines (of which 7959 are player-selected lines). This translates to 2,661,122 characters with no spaces and 590,480 words. For comparison, the entire series of The Lord of the Rings in combination with the Hobbit preceding it, i.e. back and forth, consists of 576,459 words. In turn, Atlas of the rebellious writer Ayn Rand has 561,996 words.

It is worth noting that the Polish production is less impressive compared to, for example, Red Dead Redemption 2 – developers from Rockstar Games once informed that more than half a million lines of dialogue.

It should also be added that dialogue issues in Cyberpunk 2077 they are often different in the case of the male and female versions of V, and in such situations they are counted separately. However, due to the fact that we are talking about the English edition, there are not as many differences of this type as it might seem (there would be more of them in Polish, which results directly from the specificity of our speech).

Interestingly, if you wanted to listen to all the dialogues in the game in each of the available languages, it would take – a trifle – 466 hours. But it’s probably better to just play.
