Revealed the DLC expansions of Dead Island 2 in full restructuring of the company


Publisher Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have announced the first wave of DLC for Dead Island 2. This news came on the same day that parent company Embracer Group announced a drastic restructuring that could affect both companies.

Along with a quality of life patch, several free and paid additions to the zombie-slaying game were released last Tuesday. Players can now access the new Cosplay feature, unlocked during the “Call The Cavalry” mission, which includes new character appearances. In addition, six premium character packs are available. The patch also adds various bug fixes and improvements related to the co-op client, performance and stability.

Deep Silver gave more details about the two expansions that will come to Dead Island 2, each of which includes new missions, weapons and abilities, as well as new areas to explore. This week, Embracer Group announced plans to close studios, cancel games and lay off staff as part of a massive restructuring that could have dire consequences for Deep Silver. The company wants to prioritize the most profitable projects and get rid of the ones it believes will generate less money..

However, Dambuster Studios could be safe, since Dead Island 2 sold over a million units in just three days. Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer, also stated that Dead Island 2 has been one of the company’s “biggest hits to date”. However, Saints Row, also published last year by Deep Silver, didn’t fare as well.
