PlayStation 5 Pro and Slim may come next year

Wow! A rumor from an unexpected source! Sony is said to have already started developing the PlayStation 5 Pro and the console should be released at the end of 2023.

In November 2020, Sony released the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 and this was in the middle of the infamous pandemic. As a result, many gamers have still not managed to get their hands on a console. Not only corona, but also delivery problems and the lack of certain hardware means that the stock is still not in order.

According to rumors, Sony is currently developing the Pro version of the PS5 and it should be released in late 2023 or early 2024. The new console would be two times faster than the current PS5 and ray tracing would be 2.5 times faster. The new AMD chip would be based on 5nm, but another source reports that this would still be on 4nm. The PS5 Pro will therefore focus more on ray tracing, as well as robust support for the virtual reality headset.

Not only the PS5 Pro is said to be in development, but the PS5 Slim is also said to have been brought into the development process by Sony. The PS5 Slim should be released around the same time as the PS5 Pro.

On paper it may seem absurd that the mid-gen consoles should be released sometime in 2023, but if Sony follows the same path as they did with the PS4, then the time frame makes sense. The PS4 Pro was released exactly three years after the PS4. A launch in November 2023 for the PS5 Pro and Slim does not seem so crazy.
