Anyone who recently bought The Sims 4 and has already played it for a few hours will probably have fast-forwarded the time a few times at the beginning. To fast forward time, simply click the “Forward Icon” at the bottom of the game and time will count down at a “fast pace” or an “ultra-fast pace”. This is particularly useful when the Sim is doing something and you don’t have anything else to do anyway. You can use the “Play symbol” to stop fast-forwarding and let the game run again in normal time. But even normal time still goes too fast for many players and then the question arises, how can you make time pass even slower? Is there a command or mod that can slow down time in The Sims 4?
Slow time via command
Yes, there is a command that allows you to slow down time even more in The Sims 4. To activate “slow motion mode” in The Sims 4, you have to open the console and type the command “clock._set_milliseconds_per_sim_second 1000” and confirm with the Enter key. The game then runs much slower again. For some players the game probably crashes after entering the command, but we never had any problems with this in our tests. To make time run faster or normally again, you can click on the play button or the forward button at the bottom of the screen.
- Start Sims 4 and load the save game.
- Open the console using the keyboard shortcut CTRL + Shift + C.
- Type the command “clock._set_milliseconds_per_sim_second 1000” and confirm with the Enter key.
Make time pass more slowly with a mod
Using the MC Command Center Mod you can open the “Game Time Settings” in the settings under “Gameplay Settings”. Here too you can slow down the time by entering a value lower than 1000. The lowest value is currently 1 and above this a super slow motion mode can be activated. Here, too, you can change the time back to normal by clicking on the play symbol or the forward symbol at the bottom of the bar.
