Deal : VW will soon discontinue the We-Connect app – this is the alternative

Over and over: Volkswagen will stop operating the “We Connect” app in a few weeks. SamaGame reveals what this means for users and what alternatives there are.

Surprising news from Volkswagen: The Wolfsburg-based car manufacturer will discontinue the “We Connect” app on November 8, 2023. That reports Mobiflip and refers to an email that Volkswagen is currently sending to affected users. This is the second service for which the German car manufacturer has announced an end to operations within a few months. At the end of July 2023, the Wolfsburg-based company announced that it would discontinue the “We Connect Go” app – which turned older cars into networked vehicles in collaboration with a Bluetooth dongle – on December 31, 2025.

Functions in the Volkswagen app in the future

But despite the “We Connect” app being discontinued in a few weeks, drivers of a compatible vehicle do not have to worry that the car manufacturer will take away functions. As Volkswagen says in the email, the features that were previously accessible via the “We Connect” app can be used as usual via the official Volkswagen app after the shutdown. The application, which, like the “We Connect” app, is used to control and monitor your vehicles, stands for both Android– as well as iOS-Devices available free of charge.
