Taming and breeding Valheim deer: Is it possible?

In Valheim you can catch, tame and breed various wild animals. The animals include wild boars as well as wolves and loxes. When it comes to taming animals, one or two players may ask themselves the question, what do deer and stags actually look like? Can you also tame and breed a deer in Valheim?

Valheim: How to tame deer?

The deer can be found in forests in Valheim and they will be spooked relatively quickly if you are too loud and get too close to them. To kill the deer you definitely need a bow and arrow. If you have successfully killed the deer, you will not only receive raw meat and deer skin, but also the deer trophies that you need, among other things, to summon the first boss opponent called Eikthyr. Alternatively, you can hang the deer trophies on the wall for decoration.

Anyone who has ever tried to tame a deer may have asked themselves, can’t you catch and tame deer or do you have to pay special attention? The short answer to the question is that you cannot currently tame deer in Valheim. The animals that can currently be tamed include wild boars, wolves and loxes.

Since Valheim was only officially released on Steam a few days ago and the developers have already promised numerous updates with new features, it will probably only be a matter of time before you can tame and breed a deer in Valheim. Has anything changed on the topic in the meantime? If so, we would be happy to hear from you in the comments and we will add the information here.

Tip: This is how you can improve the forge in Valheim and build a blast furnace.
