Adam Boyes explains why Street Fighter V is an important exclusive

The announcement of exclusivity Street Fighter V on PlayStation 4, was a significant blow dealt by Sony at the start of the generation. It’s a big blow because for many people, Street Fighter is the standard bearer of fighting games.

Sony looked pretty excited during the game’s reveal at PS Experience (despite the leak that occurred a few hours before the event). This enthusiasm is understandable, from a business point of view, succeeding in obtaining exclusivity on such an emblematic title has a considerable impact but as Adam Boyes explains, it is not the only reason, it is also because that Street Fighter means a lot to Sony and in particular to him.

He explains that before joining the American branch of Sony Computer Entertainment as vice president of publisher and developer relations, he was director of production at Capcom (US) and that he had the chance to work on the redesign of the sprites of Street Fighter II Turbo HD remix and that it represents, in a sense, a return to his roots for him.

Street Fighter V is scheduled for release next year.
