If you’ve already spent an hour or two in the world of Minecraft and have tried out a few things, sooner or later you might want to try something out with a different account or just play on the same PC with a different account. In this short guide, we’ll show you how to create a second account in Minecraft and switch between accounts.
Create and switch a second account
Anyone who plays the “official” Minecraft version on the PC can now switch between accounts using the Minecraft launcher. Before that, of course, you first have to create a second account and to do this you either have to create another Microsoft account or a new Mojang account. The game must be purchased again for the second account. Then, as mentioned, you can now use the Minecraft launcher to create a second or third and fourth account and re-register.
- Start Minecraft Launcher and open the settings at the bottom left.
- In the settings you will now find the “Accounts” tab and here you can store Mojang accounts in addition to Microsoft accounts.
- To switch to the second account, go back to the account overview and select the “Change account” button.
Second account on PS4, PS5, Xbox One/Series and Switch?
If you play Minecraft on the console, you can of course create multiple accounts. Depending on whether you want to play online or not, you will need two Microsoft or two Mojang accounts. In addition, you also have to create another user on the console for the second account (as many people probably already know from other games that do not support multiple saves). The change in registration between the first and the second account is then simply done via the user management on the console.
