Deal : HyperOS in Germany: These Xiaomi cell phones will soon receive the update


Xiaomi is retiring MIUI, the successor is called HyperOS. A leak reveals which models the new system will soon be running in this country.

When presenting the Xiaomi 14 in China the manufacturer has with HyperOS caused a small sensation. The new smartphone comes with the new operating system ex works and, after almost 14 years, marks the beginning of the end of MIUI on Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices.

A list has now emerged that reveals which smartphones and tablets in this country should receive the update first. Like that Online magazine XiaomiUI reported, data miners have found data packages for eleven current models on the official Xiaomi servers. These are only versions marked as “Global”:

Xiaomi does have it Start of roll-out for the first quarter of 2024 stated, but a real starting signal has not yet been given. Nevertheless, there are already isolated reports that some owners of the Xiaomi 13T and the Xiaomi 13T Pro could download and install HyperOS. Also in this country. It is not known whether this is a mistake or intentional on Xiaomi’s part.

For now there are few innovations with the new OS

Xiaomi is building HyperOS Android 14 and therefore the transition should be smooth for European users. The global version appears different than the Chinese version, which has been rolling out since October 2023, with Google services pre-installed, which should not affect the compatibility of apps. The interface is clearly similar to the last version of MIUI 14.

In other words: Not much changes at first. However, it remains to be seen where Xiaomi wants to go with the new OS. In the future, HyperOS will link the manufacturer’s product universe more closely.

Starting signal at MWC 2024?

It is not yet entirely clear when exactly the new system will arrive in this country on the smartphones mentioned. It could be that the starting signal falls on the day the Xiaomi 14 is released. According to rumors, it is scheduled for February 25, 2024 – one day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC, February 26-29, 2024) in Barcelona.
