FIFA 23 Disable injuries, offside and handball

How can you deactivate or reactivate injuries and handball in FIFA 23? Where can you set offside and how can certain rules be switched off? One or two players of the new FIFA 23 may be concerned with these questions, for example if they want to activate the handball or deactivate the injuries. In this short guide we show where you can find the setting options.

Switch on and off offside, handball and injuries

As in the previous FIFA parts, in the new FIFA 23 you can activate and deactivate or set the injuries, offsides and handball as well as the cards and referee severity.

  1. Start FIFA 23 and open the settings in the main menu using the gear symbol.
  2. Go to “Game Settings” in Settings and go to the “Rules” tab.
  3. Here you can now switch the above-mentioned options such as offside, injuries or handball on and off.

The setting can be specified “globally” via the settings in the main menu as described above, or you can also set it separately for each game mode in individual game modes such as career. The same also applies to simple kick-off or normal friendly games with friends on a console in front of a screen or via the online seasons.

Stop injuries

If you have activated the injuries, you can also set the frequency of injuries. The setting can be set separately for the user (player) and the CPU (AI opponent). So if you want to play with activated injuries but don’t want to constantly replace injured players in a match, you should reduce the injury frequency a little. By default the value is 50.

Tip: This is how you can do an overhead kick from a standing position in FIFA 23.
