British teenager beaten by bouncers at Greek nightclub reveals injuries and truth about cause

The British teenager who was savagely beaten by four bouncers at a nightclub on the Greek island of Zante has revealed the extent of his injuries and the truth about how the brutal attack broke out.

Distressing footage shows James Taylor, 18, held up in a headlock by four bouncers at CherryBay nightclub in Laganas on July 4 before they took turns punching, kicking and kicking him elbow to face and body.

James, from Middlesbrough, told MailOnline he suffered two black eyes, a swollen jaw, bumps on his head, a bust lip and a cut on his knee following the savage attack and shared photos of his horrific injuries.

The teenager revealed the savage attack happened simply because he stood on a chair to take a selfie with his friends before dancing in it for ten seconds. A bouncer had tried to grab James’ arm to pull him out of the chair, but when James stepped back, the club employee disappeared.

“The bouncer came back ten seconds later with the rest of the bouncers who were in the video and they took me outside and started beating me up,” James said. “That’s all it took, something as little as standing on a chair. »

The revelation comes as his ‘devastated’ mother Michelle Taylor, 55, warned other parents whose children are going to Zante – a popular destination for young Britons – that what happened to James could happen to them.

“I want to get this message across that this is unacceptable and that this is happening to our children,” Michelle told MailOnline. “I am a mother and every mother will feel that if it happens to her son when she goes on vacation to Zante.

“You shouldn’t have to worry about whether they might get beat up by bouncers. »

Distressing footage shows three bouncers holding 18-year-old James Taylor in a headlock while a fourth hits him with a series of devastating punches

James, from Middlesbrough, told MailOnline he suffered two black eyes, a swollen jaw, bumps on his head, a bust lip and a cut on his knee following the savage attack and shared photos of his horrific injuries.

The mother-of-three said James called her early Wednesday morning to ask if he had medical insurance because he had been attacked by the four bouncers.

“I wanted to get on a plane and go there. I wanted to take him home but he wanted to stay there, that he wasn’t going to let them ruin his vacation,” Michelle said.

Michelle says she didn’t watch the video of her son being attacked because it would be “too traumatic”.

The agonizing footage shows three bouncers holding James in a headlock while a fourth hits him with a series of punches. As the Brit desperately tries to free himself from their grip, the bouncers start taking turns kicking, punching and elbowing him in the body and head.

A bouncer can be seen repeatedly hitting James with a right hook to the head as he tries to shield his body from the heavy blows. At one point, as the 18-year-old nearly broke free, a tall man kneed him in the face and pushed him into a corner before punching him in the face.

In the video, a second bouncer can be seen quickly moving forward and punching James in the face, the force of which causes his head to hit the wall behind him in a sickening blow. A bloodied and bruised James is finally able to escape their grasp.

Speaking about the attack, James said: “It happened so fast. I only remember the really big punch – the adrenaline kicked in.

When asked if he had been kicked and kneed to the body by the bouncers, he said: ‘I don’t remember, it was all just a blur. I only knew I had been kicked when I received the video when I landed in the UK.

Heartbreaking photographs taken a day after the attack show James with two black eyes and a broken lip.

Michelle said she “got a stomach ache” when James told her about the attack.

She said: “As a mother, no matter how old your child is, you want to protect them. I was not there. I wasn’t there to protect him. He’s a happy boy, he went on vacation with his friends to have a good time – and then it happened.

Michelle, her voice cracking with emotion, added: “It hurt my stomach that someone could do this to an 18 year old and get away with it. I was absolutely devastated – I still am.

Michelle, who cares for her elderly mother and grandchildren full time, added: ‘James is a lovely boy. Everyone who knows him loves him. He’s not an aggressive person, he’s not looking for trouble. I’m furious that this can happen and they can get away with it.

“If this had happened in the UK it would have been taken to court. Why is this allowed? »

The Briton is then thrown across the room again towards his concerned friends who reach out to check on his condition. The youngster, whose face is bloodied and bruised from the frenzied attack, is led out the door by his friends as the brutal bouncers follow them.

The ‘devastated’ mum said she was ‘shivering’ thinking about what would have happened if the bouncers attacked her two friends with him as they are smaller and James goes to the gym.

“If they had hit one of his friends who were with him and they fell to the ground, I shudder to think what could have happened to them if they had hit them,” Michelle said.

Greek media citing unnamed sources had included unsubstantiated claims that bouncers attacked James because he hit a girl with a bottle on July 7. But James was beaten by bouncers three days earlier, on July 4, and he said he didn’t hit a girl.

Speaking about why the bouncers attacked him, James said: “I was sitting with my friends at the back of the club and we had seats around us. We got a selfie of the large group of us there and I had jumped on a seat to get into the picture and danced on the chair for about 10 seconds.

“The bouncer tried to grab my arm to pull me down and I pulled my arm back before he said ‘get down’.

“I got down straight away, but I don’t think he liked the fact that I was strong enough to pull my arm away from him. The bouncer left but came back 10 seconds later with the rest of the bouncers who were in the video and they took me outside and started beating me.

James added: “I was shocked how little you have to do to get these foreign bouncers to start beating someone like that. »

“I thought if you go away and you’re dumb and cause trouble, then yes maybe, but I didn’t know that would happen for something as little as standing in a chair to take a selfie. »

James said after the attack that he would “never go back” to Zante.

“Bouncers just want to fight and beat people. It’s a regular thing for them to beat up the tourists. When I was there people asked me where I had gotten by black eye and when I said “guess” they all immediately guessed Cherry Bay.

When asked what he would say to other teenagers who were considering going to Zante, he replied, “If people are going to Zante, just know that all you have to do is stand on your feet. a chair and it could happen to you. They really don’t care.

After the attack, James was rushed to the medical center and given an x-ray. He told doctors he suffered injuries after being beaten by the bouncers.

But Michelle said the medical report simply says James suffered his injuries ‘falling on his face’ – although the teenager told them in detail about the attack.

‘That’s scary. I feel like these people are all in on it. They are all corrupt, they stick together no matter what. That in itself is scary.

General view of the CherryBay nightclub where the attack occurred

Local media in Greece had reported that James spoke to police and identified a Serbian bouncer. But James and his mother said he never spoke to officers.

MailOnline has contacted CherryBay nightclub for comment.

In 2017, an American tourist was beaten to death by seven Serbian men, including a bouncer, and a Greek bartender at Bar Code in the same Laganas resort.

Bakari Henderson, 22, was in Zakynthos for a photo shoot to launch his own fashion line when he and his friends visited the bar and allegedly asked a Serbian waitress for a selfie.

The mob of Serbian men chased Henderson down the street and was fatally attacked.

EA FC 24 Disable injuries, offside and handball

Where can you find the offside and handball settings in the new EA Sports FC 24? How can you eliminate injuries and activate hand play? One or two players from the new FC24 may have been dealing with these questions in the last few days, annoyed by the constant injuries to the players or wondering why the referee doesn’t whistle for a clear handball. In this short guide we show where you can find and change the settings.

Set up handball, offside and injuries

In the new FC 24, injuries, as well as rules such as offside, are activated again by default. If you would like to change this, you can change this at any time in the settings under the “Rules” tab.

  1. In the main menu, open the Customize window using the gear symbol and then call up “Settings”.
  2. Under the “Game Settings” you will now find the “Rules” tab and all the options you are looking for are available to choose from here. These include injuries, offsides, cards, handball and the severity of the referees.
  3. Finally, set the rules the way you want them and the change will be applied. If you adopt the attitude and still have injured players on the team, then you still have to wait until they are “healed”. Changing the injury settings doesn’t seem to automatically make all players fit and ready to play straight away.

The setting is global, but you can also change the rules from game mode to game mode and from game state to game state. For example, in career mode you can create a game state with a coaching career where injuries are activated and another game state where players cannot get injured.

FIFA 23 Disable injuries, offside and handball

How can you deactivate or reactivate injuries and handball in FIFA 23? Where can you set offside and how can certain rules be switched off? One or two players of the new FIFA 23 may be concerned with these questions, for example if they want to activate the handball or deactivate the injuries. In this short guide we show where you can find the setting options.

Switch on and off offside, handball and injuries

As in the previous FIFA parts, in the new FIFA 23 you can activate and deactivate or set the injuries, offsides and handball as well as the cards and referee severity.

  1. Start FIFA 23 and open the settings in the main menu using the gear symbol.
  2. Go to “Game Settings” in Settings and go to the “Rules” tab.
  3. Here you can now switch the above-mentioned options such as offside, injuries or handball on and off.

The setting can be specified “globally” via the settings in the main menu as described above, or you can also set it separately for each game mode in individual game modes such as career. The same also applies to simple kick-off or normal friendly games with friends on a console in front of a screen or via the online seasons.

Stop injuries

If you have activated the injuries, you can also set the frequency of injuries. The setting can be set separately for the user (player) and the CPU (AI opponent). So if you want to play with activated injuries but don’t want to constantly replace injured players in a match, you should reduce the injury frequency a little. By default the value is 50.

Tip: This is how you can do an overhead kick from a standing position in FIFA 23.
