Monthly updates on One take a holiday at Christmas

Microsoft intends not to stop in its momentum of improvements for the Xbox One. The now famous monthly updates that took place in 2014 will therefore continue in 2015 after a short break during the Christmas period, as confirmed by the director of the Xbox division, Phil Spencer.

We’re not used to doing big updates in December. It’s a time of year when a lot of gamers will turn on their console for the first time, play games for the first time. Traditionally we stay away during November/December. However, we have announced an update for November this year. But in December we’re going to let people turn on their consoles and play while being sure that everything works well. This is our priority.

When we arrive in 2015, we will clearly have a schedule of monthly updates. When we resume, we will observe. We’re working hard on these things, but it’s a commitment we have as a platform development team.

This month’s update should bring, among other things, personalized wallpapers, more detailed profiles and even video sharing via Twitter.

And you, what do you think of the pace of updates on the Microsoft console?
